The Daily Telegraph reports
Kim Kardashian has cancelled her appearance at Flemington's Stakes Day and will instead fly back to the US to deal with the fallout from her divorce.
After promoting her handbag range in Sydney yesterday, the 31-year-old told marquee host Swisse it would be "too much" for her to appear at the races on Saturday, waiving her $150,000-an-hour fee, the Daily Telegraph reports.
"All indications were that Kim wanted to fulfill her commitments once she landed in Australia, but has obviously changed her mind given her very difficult personal challenges at the moment," a Swisse spokesman said.
Kim's sister Khloe was asked to appear in her place but she is also leaving the country. The pair will fly out of Australia today.
Kim Kardashian on Monday announced she had filed for divorce from her husband of 72 days Kris Humphries.
Since the split, Kardashian has been forced to defend claims the wedding — which earned the couple $17 million in TV and magazine deals — was a publicity stunt.
