JANET Jackson fans got a rude shock when they turned up to her Sydney Opera House show tonight to find she had cancelled the performance just an hour before she was due on stage.
A short statement issued by Janet Jackson’s Australian promoter pulled the gig at 7.30pm.
Jackson interrupted her “Up Close And Personal” tour of Australia last week to return to America for the trial of her brother Michael’s doctor Conrad Murray.
She returned to perform one concert in Melbourne which squeezed three planned shows into a not-so-intimate and shortened one night stand at Rod Laver Arena.
Fans who had paid more than $300 were left disappointed by her late arrival and truncated performance.
Jackson lobbed in Sydney on Friday for her opening Opera House show on Saturday.
But fans who turned up to tonight’s show, many of whom had organised babysitters and travelled into the city to find out they had arrived at a non-event, were told their concert would not be rescheduled.
"Doctors have ordered Miss Jackson to undertake vocal rest for the next 2 days, so she can complete the 3rd and final show of her Australian tour, this Tuesday night at the Sydney Opera House," the statement read.
Fans will receive a full refund via the box office at the Sydney Opera House, 9250 7777.
