JMo and Elle, The Sunday Telegraph, report
IT was always going to be difficult but Aussie director Baz Luhrmann has recreated the sumptuous Buchanan mansion from The Great Gatsby - in Manly.
Luhrmann opted for the sprawling grandeur of the International College of Management over Sydney's other period homes. The estate, overlooking Manly Beach, is being transformed into a 1920s stately home set in Long Island, New York.
Luhrmann will shoot external scenes on location while the interior of the Gatsby mansion has been recreated at Fox Studios.
Crew have created a wall of ivy to cover scaffolding around the building (right), as well as constructing a large water fountain.
It's on the same grounds that Nicole Kidman wed Keith Urban in 2006. Gatsby star Leonardo DiCaprio is expected to film scenes on location at the Manly site this week.
