The new Mornings host David Campbell.
Natalie Craig, The Sydney Morning Herald, interviews David Campbell
1. Your father is Aussie rock legend Jimmy Barnes. Did you use that to your advantage as a child?
I hid from it mostly. Only close friends knew. Eventually it got around and I paid the price with some serious sledging from other students. I did get free tickets to his shows for my mates and I in high school - I was extremely popular then.
2. You're a musician, TV presenter and have been on Dancing with the Stars. Is there anything you can't do?
I cannot freestyle rap. I am also next to useless around the house. I have never been very DIY. I don't possess the gene.
3. Have you ever proposed?
I proposed to my wife in Paris. It was a near disaster. I tried to impress her in the worst restaurant in Paris. It was pouring with rain, so a romantic walk was out of the question. I was so stressed, I was nearly sick. Finally, my wife said: ''Let's go to the hotel restaurant.'' It was so classy. She said yes, luckily.
4. Which historical figure do you relate to most?
Bobby Darin. I relate to the fact he has the same background as me. Not knowing who his father or mother were for years. Struggling to be a performer, hoping this may fill a void. I have always felt an affinity for him and his music.
5. What's the most precious thing you own?
My son Leo and my wife Lisa. I don't need anything material. My life is complete with these two people. I spent so many years thinking I don't belong or no one wants me. Lisa focused me and gave me purpose. And Leo is just the best guy I could ever know, growing up right in front of me every day.
6. What's your favourite lyric?
In Wichita Lineman, by Jimmy Webb: ''And I need you more than want you; and I want you for all time.'' Is there a better lyric? So simple. Says so much with so little. It breaks my heart.
