The Herald Sun reports
HE started out in reality TV but now Timomatic is set to take on a worldwide deal with music giant EMI.
The Set it Off singer said people were harsh to criticise performers who got their start in reality TV and were working hard to make themselves known.
"People who criticise it are insecure and probably couldn't do it themselves or put themselves out there like that," he said. "It's a lot of hours and it's bigger and harder than what you think.
"There is no one way to get your dream, you do whatever it takes. There are people who won't do reality TV shows and still aren't living their dream."
Before he heads off to the US in February to meet with some of the world's best producers, the smooth singer, writer and dancer will be a little closer to home, performing for kids at Rod Laver Arena this Saturday.
Timomatic has also signed up to be a Swisse Ambassador and his first single has gone platinum on the Aussie charts.
"This time last year I was resting a bad back and not doing much," he said.
"But to be platinum in Australia is a dream come true and just makes me want to work that much harder."
