The Daily Telegraph reports
HE made headlines for his bulked-up form in Thor, but now Chris Hemsworth is on a diet.
Hemsworth, the former Home And Away star turned Hollywood pin-up, is shedding kilos to get into character for his next film, Rush.
Hemsworth, who was among the guests at the Qantas Spirit of Australia party in LA yesterday, will play racing car driver James Hunt in the film, which will be directed by Ron Howard. The project begins in London next month.
"(Rush) is completely different (from Thor). I have to lose a whole lot of weight for that," Hemsworth said.
"As soon as that is done I will have to get back into training (for Thor 2)."
Adopted Aussie John Travolta is heading back Down Under.
Travolta, who was last in Melbourne in November, has two visits scheduled this year. He will also support the Australian Olympic team in London in his role as a Qantas ambassador.
Travolta has had a long association with the airline and has his own Qantas plane, which he flies. "The Qantas airliner, I'm just in love with it. I never get over that plane," he said. "It has two bedrooms, a living room and a business class area and big, beautiful galley.
TOP Australian model Jessica Hart was hobbling at the Spirit of Australia party last night, having cracked a bone in her ankle three days beforehand.
Hart, who attended the gala with her sister Ashley, was walking gingerly in high heels, but put on a brave face.
"I can't believe I did this. I broke it getting out of a car," Hart, who has a hugely successful international modelling career, said.
She is quickly evolving into a fashion designer, with her Neon Hart clothing range with General Pants sold in Australia and Britain.
She has recently created a separate range for Pencey Standard in the US.
"It will launch in early March. They are completely different lines," she said.
