HE'S battled drugs and various other demons and now, at the ripe age of 43, Jason Donovan is making a musical comeback.
Twenty-three years after he warbled along with Kylie Minogue to Especially For You, Donovan is set to release an as-yet-untitled album due to hit shelves in March through Universal Music.
The former Neighbours pin-up, who recently returned to Australia fresh from his turn on Britain's top-rating Strictly Come Dancing, announced his plan to return to the studio yesterday and says he is 'as excited as I've ever been' about his return.
"I know exactly how I want the new album to sound and I'm as excited as I've ever been about a record," he said.
"I want to give a massive thank-you to my fans for all their support in 2011, here's to a brilliant 2012.
The biggest-selling artist in Britain back in 1989, Donovan released four number-one singles and shifted more than 13 million copies of his debut album Ten Good Reasons.
Singles included Too Many Broken Hearts, Nothing Can Divide Us, and his duet with then-girlfriend Kylie which is still the biggest seller of his career.
Most recently he played the role of Tick in the West End production of Priscilla: The Musical.
