The Daily Telegraph reports
She may be back to work today, but mum-to-be Jessica Marais is expected to fly out of Sydney this week to prepare for a home birth in her native Perth.
The first child for Jessica Marais and fiance James Stewart is due in about seven weeks, so the no-fly zone is fast approaching for the former Packed To The Rafters favourite, who is said to have chosen an alternative birthing plan.
Word from the west is that Marais hopes to deliver the baby at her family home in Perth with her mum, Karen, and younger sister Clara by her side.
The trio are extremely close.
Father Tony died from a heart attack in front of Marais when she was nine, just six months after the family moved to Australia from South Africa.
Marais - who makes her US TV debut this year in the Miami underworld drama The Magic City - will take part in a live script read with actor Marcus Graham at a public event on Cockatoo Island tonight.
It's her first local job after leaving Rafters, having been forced to pull out of the Sydney Theatre Company production of Pygmalion due to her pregnancy.
Rafters - which Stewart remains on - has maintained its ratings stronghold this year, drawing 1.548 million viewers last week. Rumour has it Marais will return for the 2012 finale but, loyal fans, don't get too excited - it will be via a computer screen on Skype.
