I am an Australian-born actress. I attended the Methodist Ladies College in Melbourne and the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney. After graduating from NIDA I joined the Sydney Theatre Company. I was the first person to win the critics circle theatre award for best newcomer and lead actress in the same year. I have appeared in television dramas such as Heartland (1994) and G.P. (1994). I was considered for the role of Clarice Starling in Hannibal (2001) which eventually went to Julianne Moore.
