IT'S a secret that has been fortified in the vault next to the $250K high roller chips, but the special guest who will headline the official relaunch of The Star has been leaked. Well-placed insiders have confirmed the 22-time Grammy Award-winner will appear at the party for 800 invite-only guests, set to take place inside the new five-star hotel, The Darling.
While officials at The Star refused to comment yesterday, saying they wished to keep details of the special night under lock and key, it's understood both Prince and Lady Gaga were considered for the performance slot before Wonder was approached.
"This is going to be a party like no other Sydney has seen," our spy spilled.
"The guest list alone is explosive."
Despite rumours that Kings Of Leon, Elle Macpherson and Shurley (AKA Shane Warne and Elizabeth Hurley) were also expected at the Pyrmont entertainment mecca, the insider said they had not yet been inked on the RSVP list.
The food will be prepared by chef Chase Kojima, of new Star restaurant Sokyo.
Jennifer Hawkins and Jake Wall, Kate Richie and Stuart Webb, Wendell Sailor and wife Tara, Ricki-Lee Coulter and boyfriend Richard Harrison have confirmed their attendance.
