The Daily Telegraph reports
The actor who played Julian Assange's hacker
buddy in a Channel 10 telemovie has a plan to rig the online Logies' voting so
that he can win Most Popular Actor and make a mockery of the awards show.
The Herald Sun reports that Jordan Raskopoulos, who had a supporting
role in Underground: The Julian Assange Story, ridiculed the TV awards show on
an online forum and has vowed to reward those who voted for him by letting them
write lines of his acceptance speech.
Raskopoulos is on a short-list for nomination alongside some of
Australia's most famous faces - Hugh Sheridan, Matthew Le Nevez, Gary Sweet and
Guy Pearce.
"The Logie awards is Australia's equivalent of the Emmys. They're
our annual television awards, they're utterly terrible and, unlike the Emmys,
the big awards are decided by public vote. They're usually won by soap opera
actors, many a Neighbours starlet has claimed a Logie," he wrote.
"Please don't misread this a plea to the internet to vote for me
for my own gain. This is an opportunity to get a man from the internet on to
live television to mock an Australian institution (and potentially ruin my
career)."
Yesterday Raskopoulos said he was not a huge fan of the awards
show."If I win it will be one of the greatest, weirdest speeches
ever."
