The Daily Telegraph reports
Brooke Satchwell is engaged to her boyfriend
of four years Sydney film editor David Gross. The down-to-earth Packed To The
Rafters actress has revealed she was shocked when her man got down on bended
knee during a recent holiday in Cambodia.
"It's actually where we fell in love," the 31-year-old
excitedly told Confidential.
"It was such a surprise. I later found out he had been planning it
for six months."
The former Neighbours favourite was all smiles at the Channel 7
program launch at Luna Park, where plenty of guests were commenting on her
ring.
"He did very well," she said of the sparkler.
The pair met while Satchwell was dating off-the-rails actor Matthew
Newton, who was charged with assaulting her at their Balmain home in September
2006.
His assault conviction was later quashed by a judge. Gross was the
producer of little-known flick Right Here Right Now starring Newton,
Satchwell and Pia Miranda.
Not long after they reconnected in 2008 working on a documentary, their
new relationship faced a difficult test when they were caught in crossfire
during the Mumbai terrorist attacks.
Satchwell escaped after going to the bathroom moments before insurgents
stormed hotel reception and opened fire.
"We were lucky to have known each other well enough before to know
it was more than post-traumatic stress," Satchwell has joked previously.
There are currently no wedding plans, with Satchwell saying she and
Gross are in no rush.
