Benji Madden tips brother Joel's Team to win Channel Nine's The Voice

The Daily Telegraph reports

Benji Madden is calling it early - Team Joel will win the inaugural season of The Voice.

The Good Charlotte brothers team up again tonight for the battle rounds, with Benji fitting in his filming and mentoring duties between songwriting sessions with Reece Mastin and Tonight Alive.

While the mentor wouldn't nominate which of his coach's contestants would go all the way, he said "Joel's great eye and ear for talent" put him in the front running.

Benji no doubt has been keeping on eye on the social media feeds in which his brother's enthusiastic performance as a coach is winning him even more fans here.

"I'm loving watching Joel do his thing, on his own being a coach. I am not sure I could give people the same experience," Benji said.

"I know we are twins but to know Joel is to like Joel."

With his brother's family heading back to Australia for the live shows in a couple of weeks, Benji will no doubt join them to continue working on their side project, the Madden Brothers: "Yeah, we've been working on that band name all our lives, we had to earn that name. You can't just go out there and call yourselves the Madden Brothers," he joked.

As for fears expressed by father-in-law Lionel Richie last week that Joel would permanently relocate his family to Australia, Benji said the brothers "would always spend a good amount of time here".

"It might be easier to have a residence and something from the Australian government where we can just come and go," he said, laughing.
