A private
funeral for Bee Gee Robin Gibb has been scheduled for June 8, his family
announced yesterday.
Close friends and family will gather
at an undisclosed location in Britain to remember the pop legend, who died May
20 at the age of 62, after a long battle with cancer.
The Sun had earlier reported the service would be held in Thame, a
town in Oxfordshire, southern England, where Gibb lived with his wife Dwina,
59.
According to the family statement, a
memorial service will be scheduled for later in the year.
Media reports have suggested it
could take place at St. Paul's Cathedral in London this September.
The family has requested fans donate
to Rebecca House, a children's hospice on the Isle of Man, and Wish Upon A
Dream, a charity that grants wishes for terminally ill kids, in lieu of sending
flowers or tributes.
