Tracy Grimshaw admits drunk, naked hallway moment at Crown Casino after Logies

Annette Sharp, The Daily Telegraph, reports

Notoriously private A Current Affair host Tracy Grimshaw has sought to put the record straight concerning a naked hallway appearance at Crown Casino.

Speaking to 2DAY's Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O, the usually straitlaced Grimshaw confirmed she once drunkenly ventured naked into a Crown hotel hallway after a Logies ceremony believing she had stepped into her shower.

Describing it as her "Karl Stefanovic moment" - reference to the Today host famously appearing tipsy on air after a Logies celebration - Grimshaw confirmed during her run as Today host alongside Steve Liebmann she had fronted the show heavily fortified after knocking back tequila shots with her former boss, James Packer, at the Logies.

"I did do that, yeah," she admitted during an interview in which Sandilands nudged unsubstantiated lesbian rumours.

Asked if she was "maggot" following the 1998 Logies, she responded: "Yeah I was, James and I used to do tequila shots back before he was married."

"Suddenly it was quarter to four in the morning, and I had done a few tequila shots and I was doing the Today Show that morning"

At 3.45am she decided to have a shower before the hair and make-up artists arrived at 4am to prepare her for her morning on national television, she recalled.

"I thought I am going to have a shower and get ready because the girls are going to be here in 15 minutes to get me all shooshed for the Today Show. So I took the dress off I was wearing and the finery and pulled out all the bits and bobs from my hair and went to have a shower and found myself in the hallway. At Crown. Yup."

Sandilands saw the reference to the hair and makeup "girls" as a chance to raise gay rumours: "And there's where these lesbian rumours start from, you're all drunk girls, yeah yeah, I understand how this all bubbles into fantasy."

Grimshaw also denied ever having a romantic relationship with Packer: "No not ever. Nope. Just did the odd tequila shot."
