Nui Te Koha, The Herald Sun, reports
Vision-impaired singer Rachael Leahcar reveals she was taunted by a stalker while competing on The Voice.
Rachael, 19, told Confidential: "I have learned how to deal with really weird people. People that follow you everywhere.''
Asked if she meant stalker, Rachael replied: "I don't pay attention to it anymore, but I was scared by a couple of people.
"When I was on The Voice, there was one that concerned me a little bit who was very unstable.
"But I got through it. I'm out of danger now.''
The Voice, a reality show singing contest and ratings winner, starts a new season tomorrow.
Rachael said The Voice needs a fifth coach, alongside Delta Goodrem, Joel Madden, Seal and Ricky Martin, to teach them how to navigate a reality show.
She explained: "A fifth coach would teach you things to learn along the way. It's always good to have a heads up.
"The coaches give good advice, don't get me wrong, but none of them have never been through it as an artist on a reality show.''
Rachael's comments come as she prepares to perform a free show at The Glen Shopping Centre, in Melbourne, at 7pm on April 26.
She said: "I'm really excited about the show and being a full time singer. I am one of the lucky ones.''
Rachael also disputed reports she is considering bionic eye technology to restore her eyesight.
She said: "I wouldn't rush into that for many, many reasons.
"The first is, I'm a role model now for a lot of people with disabilities.
"If I did become normal in inverted commas, a lot of people wouldn't relate to me anymore.
"Secondly, I've lived the way I have for 19 years, with low vision. I don't know if a bionic would change my vision that much.
"Plus I don't want anything drilling into my head.''
