Beyoncé to perform in Australia later this year in second wave of world tour

Beyoncé’s Australian fans will need to wait until the year's end for the pop star's tour to hit local shores after circling the globe.

Beyoncé announced the European and North American leg of her Mrs Carter Show World Tour after her Super Bowl performance.

Beyoncé's tour starts on April 15 in Serbia and the first leg ends in Rio de Janeiro on September 13.

Australia, Asia and Latin America will be included on the second leg of the tour, which will run for over a year.

Previewed as her "most ambitious undertaking to date", the top ticket price for most American shows is around $280.

Ticket prices start at around $60.

One show at the Staples Centre in LA features a company offering premium ticket packages for $4000 - without the chance to meet the superstar.

Her last Australian tour was in September 2009.

Beyoncé's Super Bowl performance has re-ignited sales of her previous band Destiny's Child, who reformed for the event.

In America their album sales rose by 600-per-cent overnight, in Australia's Destiny's Child's #1 is No.15 on iTunes.

The name of her new tour is inspired by her married name - husband Jay-Z's real name is Shawn Carter.

Before he hit fame and fortune, Crocodile Dundee's Paul Hogan was employed as a painter on the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

The Matrix reused sets that were built for Dark City. The rooftops Trinity bolts across in the beginning of The Matrix are the same ones you see John Murdoch run on in Dark City.

Dangar Place is the actual location where Detective Sergeant Roger Rogerson gunned down drug dealer Warren Lanfranchi. Although the area has been redeveloped since the filming of Blue Murder, making it almost unrecognisable, the kindergarten located on Beaumont Street, at the end of Dangar Place, is still there. It took more than six years to get Blue Murder screened in New South Wales because of Neddy Smith's trial. He was charged with seven murders allegedly committed in the 1980s.

Catherine Zeta-Jones, Renée Zellweger and Heath Ledger were considered for the roles of Satine and Christian in Moulin Rouge! The parts eventually went to Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor. Olivia Newton-John's hit song Physical was recorded by Kylie Minogue but never used in the movie.

As baby pigs don't remain in babyhood for very long, 48 Yorkshire pigs had to be used for the filming of Babe.

"Accuracy is hard to stick to when shooting a movie set in the past, especially on location. In The Night We Called It a Day, a scene shot on Sydney's waterfront features a catamaran ferry.
