Former Summer Bay star Melissa George desperately wishes everyone would forget about her four-year as Angel Parrish on Home and Away.

Not a problem, according to the soap's latest recruit, Kassandra Clementi.

Despite being a fan of the Seven staple, the 21-year-old actress, who joins the cast as teen runaway Maddy from January 24, said she hadn't the faintest idea who the grumpy Logie winner was.

"No, I'm sorry, that name is not familiar to me," she confessed.

George, 36, caused a kerfuffle in November, attacking Australia as "disgusting for constantly aligning" her with the drama that launched her career.

While Clementi has tasted success in the US, playing opposite Christian Slater in the film, Hatfield's & McCoy, and movie F6 Twister with Casper Van Dien, she was happy to return to Australia.

"I was homesick and I thought it was a wonderful opportunity to join this fantastic series," she said.

Her ambition is to turn Maddy into one of the most loved characters in Summer Bay.
