Taking time off work to get hitched and have a honeymoon should be the easy part of planning a wedding.
But it's a different story for entertainers, who can be in and out of work at a moment's notice.
That's the case for Melbourne sweethearts Rohan Browne and Christie Whelan, who have had to delay their honeymoon after A Chorus Line was extended until March 10. Their wedding, on March 4, was to be the day after the musical ended.
The extension means Browne, a cast member, will skip two shows for the wedding, go on a mini-honeymoon to Daylesford and then return to the stage.
"That's just the nature of the business we're in," Browne said.
"The show must go on, but the wedding is the most important day of my life, so it will go on without me for two days."
Thankfully, after working in different states, the couple, who met through mutual industry friends 4 1/2 years ago, have been reunited to put the finishing touches on their Fitzroy Gardens wedding.
