Confidential reporters, The Herald Sun, report
AFTER 25 years in the business Kylie Minogue proved she was the one with the real X factor.
The pop star was the highlight of last night's The X Factor grand finale, performing a stripped-back version of '80s hit I Should Be So Lucky backed by a full orchestra.
Minogue, accompanied by boyfriend Andres Velencoso, was also the star hit on Monday night performing duet Kids with Reece Mastin and a medley of her hits with the Top 12.
And the soon-to-be ARIA Hall of Fame inductee's showstopper was not the only surprise performance.
Singing star Emmanuel Kelly and the Top 12 gave moving renditions of Beatles classics Imagine and Let It Be, while one-hit-internet-wonder contestant Luke O'Dell ensured a cringe-worthy moment singing Introvert/Extrovert.
And if Minogue was the hit on stage, behind the scenes it was judge Mel B's kids who had the audience in raptures. Phoenix, 12, and Angel, 4, met their glamorous mouthy mum on stage between ad breaks.
