He lost 13kg to play the part of "the hot UPS guy" in Legally
Blonde: The Musical, now musical theatre star Mike Snell is ready for love.
The Hairspray
and Wicked singer and actor credits dropping so much weight with
reviving his career.
"It gave
me the confidence to become a leading man," he told Confidential
yesterday. "It's changed my whole life. Now I just need a date.
"After
all, my main line in the show is 'I have a package'."
Having appeared
alongside Hugh Jackman in The Boy From Oz, Snell made it to the top of
the leaderboard this year on Channel 10's I Will Survive. He said the
show - which has bombed in the ratings - has suffered because it only appealed
to a tiny pool of people.
"Musical
theatre has a very small demographic in Australia, and then you add a drag
element and it's even smaller," he said.
"It has a
lot of heart and soul but it's a very niche market.
"Plus it's
up against X Factor, which is just a juggernaut."
