Shannon Noll is expected to pull out of Dancing With The Stars.

The official announcement will be made tonight when the show airs on Seven at 6.30pm.

The singer is expected to have surgery on his back this week.

Noll, 36, has been complaining of back pain for several weeks and is understood to have hurt it seriously in training while rehearsing a lift with professional dance partner Elena Samodanova (both pictured above).

A Seven spokesman did not confirm Noll's departure but said "someone is going" from the show.

Other sources say Noll has not enjoyed the experience at all and that there has been tension with his dance partner.

On Friday on Twitter, the Australian Idol runner-up swung his support behind ex-AFL player Brendan Fevola. "I'll be voting for you now," he wrote. Noll's manager, Nicole Hart, didn't return calls.
